Telecom & fiber

The build-out is in the permit record before it's in the press release.

Nobody trenches a right-of-way or sets a small cell without paperwork. Utility permits, ROW permits, tower modifications, boring and excavation filings: they hit county systems weeks or months before service maps update. 74M+ permits across 42 states, queryable by address, type, and date.

Two problems, one dataset

First: competitive intelligence. When an overbuilder enters a market, the earliest public trace is permit activity, not marketing. Track excavation and utility filings by county and you see the footprint forming. Second: demand forecasting. Every new-construction permit is a future address that needs connectivity. A subdivision permit today is a serviceable-location decision you get to make early instead of late.

  • Spot trenching, boring, and utility permits by county and month
  • Track tower and antenna modification filings over time
  • Map new-construction permits as future serviceable addresses
  • Watch competitor contractors move into a new market
  • Prioritize build areas by residential permit velocity
  • Pull it programmatically instead of monitoring county portals by hand

Planning on filings, not rumors

Network planning teams spend real money on hearsay: a sales rep heard a competitor is building, a city council agenda mentioned fiber. Permit records replace that with dated, addressed filings from the jurisdiction itself. It won't tell you a rival's strategy memo. It will tell you where their crews pulled paperwork last month, which is usually the better fact to have.

Coverage, graded

Straight tier note: Florida is Tier 1, with permits matched to license-verified contractor records including contact data, useful when you need to reach the crews doing the digging. The other 41 states are permit records over the same API: address, work type, valuation, dates, contractor as filed. Every state carries a public count and a published grade, and the coverage endpoint is machine-readable. Verify us first, then buy.
