Aerial imagery guesses at a roof from above. We read the permit that put it there: the reroof permit number, the issue date, the contractor of record, and the declared value. That is evidence an underwriter can file, not a model score. 3.5M+ properties covered, with an honest per-jurisdiction coverage grade on every answer.
What one call returns

The lookup and the proof
Look up any address with its ZIP and you get roof age in years, the date of the last roof permit, the material with a confidence level, a coverage grade for that jurisdiction, and a link to the evidence.
Follow the evidence link and you get the permits the answer came from: permit number, jurisdiction, issue date, contractor and license, and declared value. Score a whole book at once by sending a list of addresses and ZIPs to the batch endpoint.

Honesty is the feature
Permit data is never complete, and vendors who pretend otherwise get caught on the first claim file. Every Roof Intelligence response carries a per-jurisdiction coverage grade: A means 70 percent or more of covered properties in that jurisdiction carry a derived roof age, B means partial fill, C means treat a miss as not covered. The full grade table is public over the coverage API, no key required. What we return is a floor and a scope from public permit records, not a complete property history, and never a consumer report.
